Antietam National Battlefield Visitor Center

Park staff here are always polite, helpful and full of information. The driving tour gives a good over view of how the battle unfolded.

The park is laid out in a manner that is easily accessible to all of the major events and is extremely educational. The park is beautiful. Be sure to stop in at the visitor center and pick up a map to ensure that your time at the battlefield is well planned.

Peaceful yet portrays the bloody past of our great nation. Beautiful country. I'd go again when the visitor center is open.

I had fun going to the battle of antietam reanactment. i also been to the battlefield itself what huge battlefield it is lots of monuments.Very well maintained! Love the battlefield historians are very helpful about what happen and why it happen. They are so knowledgeable, and are enthusiastic about imparting their knowledge on others. Grounds very well maintained though the clarity of understanding how the battle unfolded by reading the plaques and markers. all the staff at visitors center was super nice. An incredible moving place where you really get the full impact of the battle, a must stop for anyone who visits the battlefield

Not much of a history buff but my husband is...overall I learned a lot found it interesting, nice walk to the different monuments, friendly staff. You can use your senior access pass here and get a stamp. We did not tour the entire grounds as we stopped quick on our way back north. Nice field across the street to park our RV (could not park in the designated RV spots in the parking lot as they were pull in and we were towing. We would like to go back when we can stay longer.
