I stopped into Middleburg Antique Emporium yesterday and when I went downstairs discovered a virtual treasure trove of some of the finest handmade oriental rugs in Northern Virginia. I met the owner, Naiem Khoshdel, and learned a great deal about thread count, the designs woven into many rugs and how to tell machine made from handmade. I bought a prayer rug which I love and will go back when my new home to ready.
